Anemometer… Do I need one? If I do what is the way to go Hot Wire or Vane? – Beaverton HVAC Tips and Reviews

New Tip: Anemometer… Do I need one? If I do what is the way to go Hot Wire or Vane?
Shared By Furnace Repair Financing Beaverton Experts…

So I’m a relatively new tech that is learning from either super old school guys, or other relatively new techs.

I’ve been reading up on stuff mostly on HVACRschool.com and trutechtools.com One webinar I was reading claimed that 74% of units aren’t installed properly and in order to verify airflow is to factory specs I need an anemometer…

To the average customer in my mind isn’t going to care that his duct isn’t getting the required airflow because they likely don’t have the budget to upgrade but I think it would be a useful tool to mention as to why their brand new AC isn’t going to work that great…

That being said I haven’t seen anyone ever use an anemometer should I invest in one? And if so which one is the way to go?

TLDR: thinking about buying an anemometer, is it worth it?
